What my students have said:

Pollyanna

This course is at a very high level of learning. It goes way beyond merely copying a project or even learning new techniques (although there are lots of good ones here). Deryn is masterfully pushing us to learn some quite complex ideas & principles and apply them in our own unique ways!

Julie

What this class has done for me! It has been absolutely wonderful and exactly what I needed to get out of my comfort zone and also to sort of set myself in a design/style direction. I've been fumbling around and have never been really excited or thoroughly happy with anything I've made. This class has pushed me to really step out. I have learned so much and now know where my weaknesses are and what I need to work on. Thank you so much Deryn you are one awesome teacher!!!

Sheri

I just want to take this moment to say how much I love your class and tell you that you are a fantastic teacher. I appreciate so much everything you have shared, all of your special superpowers and secrets, and all of the time and work you put into your online classes. I am so impressed. I have learned so much. Thank you, Deryn!

Originally from Oregon, with a long stop in Texas, I now live in the wild west of Wyoming where my husband was born and raised. Wyoming has always been home to me and we're lucky to have an amazing, old farmhouse built in 1900, that sits at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains. We are host to deer, pheasant, wild turkeys, bald eagles, great horned owls, moose, osprey and even a bear in our yard. This is the setting for Owl Creek Studio, and the inspiration for much of my work.

Through years of practice in metalsmithing and jewelry making techniques I've developed a unique style of my own. I traveled the country, for years, to feed my love of teaching and discovered a true passion for sharing my knowledge of technique and design. I was one of the first instructors to offer online jewelry making classes and am proud to offer excellent and inspiring creative content, online and in person.
