The Art of Closure

Looking for closure? You'll find it here!

I view clasps and closures as an opportunity to set your jewelry apart from the pack. Why use a purchased or boring closure when you can create one that's unique, exciting and...sublime? A gorgeous handmade clasp will add that "just right" finishing touch to your pieces. In this class, I'm going to show you how to construct a myriad of lovely and functional clasps as well as beautiful crimp end connections and other components...mostly cold connected. No soldering needed! This workshop will help you see the unlimited options and variations when it comes to closures for your jewelry pieces.

Skill level: beginner and up

What my students have said:

Candy

This has been an amazing class with wealth of information! As a metal craft novice I am so thankful that I was able to learn from you, an absolute pro and wonderful teacher. The cost and value comparison is off the charts, along with your effort to make this class approachable for all skill levels. I needed closure for sure! Thanks again!

Mary

Your class has been a super wonderful experience for me.  I never imagined I could like any class this much.  So Kudos to you for being such an attentive and clear teacher.  I can't say enough good things about it.

Lori

I just had to let you know how much I love the class. The classes, and you, have exceeded my expectations. My husband saw me watching the videos and asked me if they were better or worse than I thought they would be…I told him they were definitely better than what I had hoped for! The instruction and the content are exactly what I was looking for...and lacking...in my jewelry making.  I’ve never had a better teacher!

Originally from Oregon, with a long stop in Texas, I now live in the wild west of Wyoming where my husband was born and raised. Wyoming has always been home to me and we're lucky to have an amazing, old farmhouse built in 1900, that sits at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains. We are host to deer, pheasant, wild turkeys, bald eagles, great horned owls, moose, osprey and even a bear in our yard. This is the setting for Owl Creek Studio, and the inspiration for much of my work.

Through years of practice in metalsmithing and jewelry making techniques I've developed a unique style of my own. I traveled the country, for years, to feed my love of teaching and discovered a true passion for sharing my knowledge of technique and design. I was one of the first instructors to offer online jewelry making classes and am proud to offer excellent and inspiring creative content, online and in person.
